On March 5-10, 2019, Feng Yuxiao, Head of Kincaid’s Technology Sector, and Bai Juan, Research Director, visited Sinosteel Group New Materials (Zhejiang) Co. and Liaoning Dahua Guorui New Materials Co. to research the special graphite market.
Sinosteel New Materials (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. is a state-owned wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Steel Corporation. The company, established in October 2007, is the largest, highest quality and most comprehensive large-scale special graphite producer in China. Liaoning Dahua Guorui New Material Co., Ltd. was established in August 2008, and is a joint venture enterprise that produces isostatic special graphite products.
2018 was a highlight for the carbon industry; year-over-year growth in total output value and total profit were 53.92% and 116.05% respectively. Of this growth, total output of special graphite increased 23.24% year-over-year at 35,540 tons, and price continued to remain high.
Kincaid plans on leveraging the industry growth with its own graphite resources and partner with Tsinghua University Materials to jointly develop core products with independent intellectual property rights in the wind and solar industries.
